About the product

About Honey

Honey does not spoil, but the expiration date of our honey is three years after production. We will deliver products with an expiration date of more than one year.

Please store in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight.

Honey is a low-moisture food with a long shelf life, so it can be consumed even after opening, as long as it is stored at room temperature, away from high temperatures and humidity, and within the best-by date. However, in environments where the indoor temperature and humidity are likely to be high, such as in summer, the flavor may change. Therefore, we recommend consuming it as soon as possible after opening.

Honey naturally crystallizes depending on temperature and sugar content, and this is not a sign of spoilage or abnormality. While complete prevention of crystallization requires prolonged heating at high temperatures, we bottle our honey in its natural state without high-temperature heating or refining to preserve its flavor and nutrients. For this reason, crystallization may occur due to drops in temperature or storage conditions.

Crystallization is a natural phenomenon that occurs in natural honey. Depending on the sugar composition (ratio of glucose and fructose), some honey is more likely to crystallize than others, but this does not affect the quality.

Although honey's chemical quality doesn't change when it crystallizes, its aroma and flavor profile can change, which may make its taste seem weaker.

We recommend eating honey as is to enjoy its original taste and aroma. You can let the honey dissolve naturally by spreading it on freshly baked toast or adding it to hot tea. If you use a water bath, slowly heat the jar with the lid closed to about 60°C.

Since honey is a natural food produced by bees, its taste, color, consistency, and texture may vary depending on the year it was harvested. We hope you will enjoy its unique characteristics as a product of that particular year.

Do not give honey to infants under 1 year of age as their intestinal functions are immature.

Honey can be consumed during pregnancy.

La Abeille honey is pure honey made by bees collecting nectar from flowers. (Some honeydew honey is collected from tree sap.) No sugar or other sweeteners besides honey are added.

In Japan, pesticide and antibiotic residues in honey are strictly regulated. At our company, regardless of whether the honey is domestically produced or imported, we verify the beekeeping conditions and conduct quality inspections to ensure that we sell honey that meets these standards.

In order to preserve the flavor and nutrients of the honey, we do not use high heat treatment. When bottling crystallized honey, we may thin the honey at low temperatures.

Considering factors such as origin, quantity, transport distance, and season, we prioritize maintaining the quality of our honey and select the optimal shipping method based on sea routes and transport conditions. While we do not disclose the shipping methods for individual products, we only handle products that have been confirmed for quality and condition after transport and deemed safe for consumption.

In Japan, honey is not subject to the Organic JAS System, so there is no "organic certification" for domestically produced honey. In other countries, however, organic certification systems exist, and our store also handles honey from Sicily, Italy, that has acquired organic certification (ICEA). Regardless of certification, we select honey harvested from areas where consideration has been given to the natural environment.

There is no honey manufactured on the same production line as products containing the 28 allergen-specific raw materials.

To preserve the natural flavor, our store does not use high-temperature processing or excessive filtration with fine filters. As a result, the product may contain pollen or pieces of honeycomb. There is no issue with the quality, so if you are concerned, simply avoid that portion when consuming.

You can use a spoon made of any material, but please make sure it is clean. Moisture can cause fermentation, so please use a dry and clean spoon.

Try warming the lid of the bottle with hot water before opening it. The lid will get hot, so be careful when opening it, such as wearing rubber gloves.

■ Honey Gourmet (Food)

Shake well and dilute with 3 to 4 parts water or carbonated water before drinking. After opening, close the cap and store in the refrigerator (below 10°C). Please consume as soon as possible regardless of the expiration date.

Marinades are fruits marinated in honey. They go well with cold water or carbonated water, or with black tea to make honey tea. They can also be used as a fruit sauce, so they go well with yogurt or cream cheese. They can also be mixed with white wine or sparkling wine to make a cocktail.

The best-before date is printed on the back or side of the product packaging.

After opening, please store in the refrigerator and consume as soon as possible. Please note that the storage method after opening differs from that of honey.

Honey nuts can be stored at room temperature even after opening. Please be aware that refrigerating them may cause the honey to crystallize. As long as you avoid direct sunlight, high temperatures, and high humidity, you can enjoy them deliciously until the best-by date.

■ About Bee Products

It has not been heated.

It is imported frozen.

While we cannot provide a specific timeframe due to individual differences, we recommend consistent use, even in small amounts. As this is a health food product, continued use is important.

It may not be suitable for some individuals depending on their physical condition or constitution. If you have food allergies, please check the ingredients listed on the container before consuming. If you have any concerns, please try a smaller amount than the recommended daily serving.

FAQ

You can specify the delivery date from 4 business days after the order date. If you do not specify a delivery date, the shortest delivery time will be used, so please do not specify a delivery date and time. Please note that you can specify a delivery time regardless of the order date.

Orders placed after 9:00 AM on weekends, holidays, and the day before long holidays will be shipped on the next business day or later.
