Honey harvesting area details	Takahata Town, located in Higashiokitama District in the southeastern part of Yamagata Prefecture, is a beautiful and fertile town developed on the alluvial fan of the Yashiro and Wada rivers, which originate deep in the mountains of Ouu. The mountains and hills are dotted with precious ancient tombs and rock shelter caves. Rice is cultivated on the fertile flat land, and fruit cultivation such as grapes, apples and pears thrives in the mountainous areas. The beekeeping site is located along the Omogawa River, where many Robinia pseudoacacia trees grow, and has been passed down from generation to generation by beekeepers.
