Honey harvesting area Kanayama, Nanyo City, Yamagata Prefecture, Japan
Honey harvesting area details Kanayama, Nanyo City, is located in the southern part of Yamagata Prefecture, adjacent to the northern part of Nanyo City. Along the Mogami River that runs through the city, fertile plains spread out, and rice and vegetable cultivation is thriving. In the eastern part, Mt. Kumano stands at an altitude of 700m, and fruit trees are cultivated in the hilly areas. This area has long been an important agricultural region in Yamagata Prefecture, and is particularly known for its historic hot springs and traditional culture. It has a typical inland climate, with distinct seasonal changes. In winter, it is cold and there is a lot of snow, but in spring, the temperature rises and cherry blossoms and fruit trees bloom all at once, making it an ideal place to grow fragrant, sweet cherries and other fruits.

Within 2km of the honey harvesting area is Kumano Taisha Shrine, a historic shrine that is considered one of the three great shrines in Japan. It is also known as the Ise of Tohoku and is known as a power spot for matchmaking.
Recommended way to eat When added to black tea, the floral aroma spreads, creating a perfect match with the black tea's depth and gentle sweetness, leaving a pleasant aftertaste. The trick to making delicious honey tea is to add plenty of honey.

- When you pour it over hot toast, the rich flavor spreads throughout your mouth.

- When combined with yogurt, the acidity of the yogurt brings out the floral aroma of the honey.

・It matches perfectly with the sourness of cream cheese. The gorgeous aroma blends with the cheese for a mellow taste.
